That's the power station built by the North Wales Power and Traction Company (promoters of the PBSSR amongst other things) in Nant Gwynant and the pipeline goes up snowdon. It still produces electricity to this day I believe.
I thought you'd know! According to Wikipedia they were planning on using three phase 630V AC. Ten locomotives were ordered for the PBSSR and at least six were built and then cut up. The NWP&TC then paid for Russell as they had failed electrify the line.

It's interesting to see what the locomotives looked like. Someone must have wanted a model I suppose but I can't see why either.
